The First Post: Diesel Cap
7/14/20232 min read

It was a hot day today in Mexicali, Baja California. Had an encounter today with a very "unpleasant" Freightliner. We foresaw the problem of the day, when we reached to check the diesel cap.

It appeared to be really REALLY stuck, we even had to ask for assistance! As normal as it gets, the diesel station worker was very helpful and I must say, respectable man. We tried and tried, but with no luck, and the uncomfortable climate, we were getting desperate. Our friend called for 'Ruso' (english translation would be 'Russian') of a complexity of tall stature, skinny and colored eyes... Friend expressed to 'Ruso': "Come here 'Ruso', because what you don't know you invent!" I thought that was pretty funny. He also tried but with no luck, we started to look for something to force open it. We finally found an oddly shaped piece of metal, almost like a rectangle with a grip, IT WORKED! It felt like winning the lottery, like when you think it's not gonna work, but it does! Magically!
We hit the road and after a stressful 30 minutes on one of the most hated (if not THE most hated) roads I've driven in my life, we parted from the infamous "Carretera del aeropuerto" or "Carretera Ejido Jalapa - Ejido Tamaulipas". There's many reasons why I dislike this road, but I'll just quickly say there's a lot of potholes.
We finally reached our destination, MR Maquinaria's WorkShop. It was a job well done, and when the job is good, the food is good!

Thank you for reading! Blessings everyone.
